2010 Tour

Many thanks to the exhibitors, volunteers, master gardeners, artist, and the garden-goers who made the 2010 Tour a success!

The 15th annual Las Cruces Tour of Gardens was Saturday, May 15th, 2010. This year's tour featured Gardens of the Picacho Corridor. There was something for everyone:

  • Urban agricuture, home food production, and edible landscaping
  • Quixotic stulptures and 'found objects' garden features
  • Oasis in the desert
  • Rose gardens
  • Tropical gardening
  • A garden for birds and butterflies
  • And, an Australian garden

Proceeds from the 2010 Tour allowed us to fund grants of nearly $3000 to the following organizations for beautification projects:

  • La Casa, Inc to complete small landscaping projects around the shelter
  • Mesilla Valley Audubon Society for their Audubon Adventures school program
  • Mesilla Valley Bosque for planters and landscaping around the existing benches
  • Southern New Mexico State Fair and Rodeo for the Standard Flower Show
  • Women's Intercultural Center for a teaching vegetable garden for the Center's Emergency Food Pantry

Gate Prizes

There were 21 gate prize winners of gift certificates donated by Gonzales Nursery and Color Your World.

Raffle Quilt

The raffle quilt, Stars in the Garden, was donated by Las Colcheras Quilt Guild and was won by Lequita Lett of Silver City.
